IK Multimedia offers the MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier Head and VIP presets for AmpliTube as a FREE download until May 2nd, 2021.
After its initial release in 1989, the MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier quickly became the benchmark for crushing, aggressive metal and rock tones. It offered a combination of aggression and precision that similar amps couldn’t deliver.

Quite some time ago, MESA/Boogie overhauled both the Dual and Triple Rectifier amps from 2-channel amps to 3-channel amps. The update made the amp far more open to other styles and genres without losing any of its original personality.
As with other AmpliTube models, this amp is officially certified, which means, at the very least, it has the MESA/Boogie seal of approval. This 3-channel amp offers 8-mode operation and a switchable tube/solid-state rectifier section. When you talk about tube saturation with this amp, you can be extremely precise with the amount of saturation you dial in.
It’s fair to say the Triple Rectifier is an aggressive amp, but it’s not only for aggressive players. Even if you’re not a metal, grunge, or heavy rock guitarist, it’s still well worth grabbing while it’s free.
If you are new to AmpliTube, you’ll have to download AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop to unlock this amp. Once installed and launched, all you have to do is use the Restore My Purchases function, and it’s done. You’ll have access to the Triple Rectifier along with 39 other amps and FX.
I’m not a guitarist, so I’m not someone who owns high-end amplifiers; I rely more on software emulations like AmpliTube. So, without having a hardware Triple Rectifier to compare it to, I’m going off online demos, and my conclusion is the same as it always is with AmpliTube models; it’s as close to the real thing as you’re likely to find through software.
Here’s IK Multimedia’s official guide on unlocking the free MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier Head in AmpliTube 5:
“Download and install the free AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop, launch the Custom Shop, and use the Restore My Purchases function. The Triple Rec, plus 39 other iconic amps and FX, will be yours to keep. AmpliTube 5 Custom Shop will also unlock (and update) any other AmpliTube gear you already own.”
I know some of you aren’t keen on IK Multimedia’s Product Manager or installing Custom Shop, but the Product Manager has recently been improved and hopefully rectifies any issues.
Personally, I never experienced any significant problems, and I have both paid and free IK Multimedia Products. But, even if I did, I’d have to imagine the good far outweighs the bad. They make some seriously good software.

onDamn another big name to Neural.

onI didn’t see it mentioned, but if you already have all the IK stuff installed, you need to open and log into the product manager and it will add the Mesa to your account, then you can refresh Custom Shop.

onThank you!

onUnfortunately IK are not keen on people with slow internet connection, even through there product manager. It always tells me that connection is lost (wich is not true) during downloading and stop it, so I should manually got it back to downloading. And when it’s finally done, there was an error during installation….

onI already have custom shop and clicked ” Restore My Purchases ” but the mesa did not unlock? Help?

onDid you follow Ross’s advice above?

onThanks man. It worked perfectly!

onI got it. All 3 channels of this amp are turned on. Do you know how to turn high-gain channels off? I click on them and nothing happens. I still cannot figure it out
Poofox
onYou can’t turn all three on at once. Each channel has a 3 way switch but only channel and one position at a time (ch 1 only has 2 positions). The switch is right below the channel selector buttons. What makes you think they’re all on? Only one channel led can be lit.

onThings Tilt is free with every purchase made during the Anniversary Sale at Audithings website.
It’s also free if you have purchased Things Motor or Things Texture.

onThat’s a nice deal, thanks for the tip! :)

onI found Tilt added to my AT account even though I got Texture for free in the initial intro phase.

onHere’s one I paid $20 for thinking I didn’t need too many amp sims… In fact I do only use a few of them, but IK has the “free taste to get you hooked” thing down to a science. I thought I was immune, so if you think you’re immune, think again. Eventually they’ll have you buying the whole shebang.
It’s one of their better sims tho, definitely get it. AmpliTube speaker sims are still pretty weak tho and I don’t use them.

onIK Multimedia is driving me crazy. It’s nice they offer some free stuff. And I purchased a few of their VSTs.
I finally managed to get MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier. However, I had to fiddle around with the Product Manager and Amplitube Custom Shop 5 as suggested above (a big thank you to James and Ross). I finally found it thereafter within Amplitube 5 CS. Why is this company making everything so complicated? I particularly don’t like the installation of FXs which I didn’t purchase and didn’t ask to be installed. And that the downloads of purchased software are expiring and have to be redeemed again, if necessary? Very, very bad. (ok,end of rant)
