HoRNet Plugins released HoRNet Freqs, a freeware spectrum analyzer plugin in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstation software on PC and Mac.
HoRNet Freqs is a relatively simple spectrum analyzer with two distinct analysis modes: analog and digital. The analog mode resembles the look of a hardware spectrum analyzer with an LED-style display. The digital analysis mode shows the frequency spectrum in more detail as a precise FFT frequency curve.

If you’re looking for more precision, the digital mode looks like a typical modern FFT-based spectrum analyzer like Voxengo SPAN. As such, it is useful for frequency monitoring on individual tracks and the master bus.
With both modes, the user can choose the channel processing mode (mid/mono, or side), adjust the inertia time and the amplitude range. The current settings can be saved as a preset for later use.
HoRNet Freqs sports a resizable interface. Drag the lower-right corner of the GUI to adjust its height and width. The plugin uses hardware-accelerated drawing to ensure smooth performance on every type of display.
Here’s how the developer describes HoRNet Freqs:
“HoRNet Freqs is a spectrum analyzer that provides two different kinds of visualization of the audio spectrum, the first one is called “analog” and is inspired to an analog hardware spectrum analyzer that is still found on the master of many recording studios even today. The second one is called “digital” and it’s our own take on the typical spectrum analyzer based on the FFT (the standard math to transform an audio file into its spectrum components).”

onI just had a horrible experiencing trying to install this.
You need to enter quite a bit of sensitive data and than forced to download an installer. Followed installation instruction and clicked install and it closed the program and didnt install anything. I would avoid this!

onYou can download the files manually, you don’t need the downloader. The download is an .zip archive that contains the .dll and .vst3 files that you should place in your VST2/VST3 directories. No need to install anything :)
And thanks Hornet for the freebie! (although I’m not a fan of the “share to download” concept).

onТакое себе, если честно, даже скачивать не стоит, он и близко со Span не стоит…

onMy thoughts exactly. Nowadays it’s hard to compete with SPAN.
