Loopcloud offers the Kilohearts Distortion ($29) plugin as a free download to all new subscribers by the end of 2020.

Kilohearts Distortion is a multi-mode distortion effect in VST, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac. The plugin normally costs $29, but you can get it for free if you try Loopcloud by the end of this month.

The plugin comes with six distortion types (overdrive, saturate, foldback, sine, hard clip, and quantize) and a set of controls to fine-tune the active distortion algorithm. The user can adjust the drive amount, bias, spread, and dynamics. The included dry/wet mix control is handy for quick and easy parallel processing.

Of course, Kilohearts Distortion is also available as a Snapin, meaning that it’s compatible with the developer’s modular hosts like Snap Heap and Multipass. So, if you already own some Kilohearts software, here’s your chance to upgrade your snapin arsenal for free.

        Right? I appreciate it. They also did that with their last Loopcloud freebie Base Master. It’s nice to not feel “punished” for being already signed up. I hope they continue to keep doing that. I’ve been happy with their service so far. Pluginboutique also sent out an email for DriveShaper by Cableguys today.

    Signed up on November 30 got the free Bass Master and now Kilohearts Distortion. But I’m just curious – is the Bass Master no longer free? or is it a monthly new freebie?

    I took a peak at their terms of use. Words like contract and requirement to pay compensation are really discouraging. Hard pass on this plugin. There are plenty of other free distortion plugins on the market.

        I am not a lawyer. But, all ToS are a contract.
        It appears to me that the compensation in question is due to not allowing them to deliver a product in question for reasons not under their control within a reasonable time without a reasonable discourse. So like for whatever reason they cant get you the product, right now, and you’re like, F**k you I’m not using this service and I’m suing you, you might not get your refund, and you might have to compensate legal fees too or something along those lines.
        Regardless it generally takes seconds or minutes for a product to be delivered. So it really shouldn’t ever really be an issue whatsoever. And they also state their liability to you for not being able to do so. If they are at fault.

        Legal speak aside, it all seems fairly standard and fair, especially with digital content. It’s more of a set of guidelines of when and how to get a refund and what circumstances allows for that, and why a refund might be denied or accepted. I think in most cases Loopcloud wants to do what’s right, but they should be allowed to have their protections from people trying to abuse the system. They have nothing to gain from upsetting their users, they’d rather keep you happy and spending.

      You’re Correct, DriveShaper is Free with a code in your most recent Pluginboutique Email
      Tomi should make a blog on it too, Since most readers don’t have the opportunity to get it due to credit card adding, this is a good alternative to Khs Distortion.
      Also DriveShaper is Cableguys’ new product for ShaperBox 2 according to their site
