At the time of this writing, ADSR is holding an extended mid-year sale with some seriously sweet deals. So if you’re quick, you can snag a discounted plugin and grab Fundamental Bass as a bonus freebie.

Fundamental Bass is a multi-effect for bass processing with handy features to get the most out of your low end. The plugin splits the signal into two frequency bands, so you can treat the bass and high frequencies individually.

From there, you can apply some of the clever multi-band processing WA Production has packed into the plugin. On the low module, you can access the balance, flatten, and dry/wet mix knobs.

Both balance and flatten are compression algorithms. Balance is a little more gradual in its compression by my ears. Flatten gets rather extreme, which can be a bonus for some of those nastier basses.

You can also apply stereo processing to the low end. The low end can stay unaltered, or you can collapse the frequency band to mono for a little ease when mixing.

The high band has additional processors to help coax the best out of your basses. It features the same balance knob as the low module, which is the same gradual compression. Also present is a drive knob, which can add some grit and distortion to the higher frequencies of a bass sound.

As with the low module, you can also collapse the frequencies to mono with the stereo control. Fundamental Bass is rounded out with a clipper, which is always a welcome sight in any dynamics processor.

Fundamental Bass is a fun processor that can take some of the more tedious mix work out of getting your bass to sit just right in a mix. Act quick if you wanna snag it, though, as this deal won’t last forever.
