Baby Audio’s Comeback Kid Is FREE With Any Purchase At Plugin Boutique

Comeback Kid is one of Baby Audio’s most popular plugins and the big brother of the free Baby Comeback. Comeback Kid is a delay plugin, and like other Baby Audio plugins, part of its appeal is that it’s incredibly easy to use.

The interface, which looks like an old VHS recorder, has five sections; Delay, Shaper, Stereo, Flavor, and Output.

The Delay section sets the foundations of the effect, and you can choose from Straight, Dotted, Triplet, or Free feels. It has knob controls for Time and Feedback and a Ping Pong Switch.

In the shaper section, you have analog-modeled filters with Lo-Cut/Hi-Cut controls. In addition to the filter controls, you have Attack and Sustain for transient shaping, allowing you to sculpt the perfect delay.

The Flavor section has a very handy Cheap switch that trashes your delay with an 11-bit signal path. Other flavors include Tape ( tape saturation), Swirl (analog-modeled phaser), and Sauce (algorithmic reverb).

You can control and manipulate the stereo width in the Stereo section with Wider, Richer (L/R pitch variation), Pan, and Mono controls.

Even the output section has a few quirky features, like the Destiny switch, that adds more of a human and imperfect vibe to the delay.

Next, you have a Ducker that will lower the delay when the dry signal is playing, preventing things from becoming too muddy. The section is wrapped up with Dry/Wet output knobs.

Comeback Kid lets you create your ideal delay with minimal effort, and it’s far more versatile than the simple interface might initially suggest.

Baby Audio is a fun developer that makes very handy plugins. I got to try out the BA-1 synth plugin not too long ago (based on the Yamaha CS-01), and I loved it.

I think Baby Audio plugins are pretty solid value for money as is. However, if you can get one for free, that’s even better. So make sure to get Comeback Kid before July 31st and check out UJAM’s free Parallel Aggressor offer, too.
