SoliderSound released S Pulser, a freeware mid-side tremolo effect in VST, VST3, and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS.
S Pulser is a tremolo effect with a square-shaped LFO and a couple of fancy tricks that set it apart from other freeware tremolos on the market.
SoliderSound describes S Pulser as a “pulse effect,” and that’s a pretty good explanation of what it does to the signal. Due to its square-shaped modulator, the plugin will turn any audio into a pulse.
This can work great on cinematic leads and bass sounds, adding the necessary rhythm and tension to the piece. Load a growling bass patch on your favorite synth, hit a sustained deep note, and let S Pulser do its magic.
However, SoliderSound spiced things up a bit by including a mid-side slider that lets you pinpoint the part of the signal that will be affected. For example, you can load a wide stereo pad and only modulate the side signal while leaving the center intact.
Another handy feature is the time sync menu, which includes interesting rates like 3/8 and 3/16. Changing the sync rate will drastically change the effect’s vibe, and it can completely transform the rhythm of your song.
A good way to get unstuck while working on a cinematic piece is to try different pulse rates on the bass/lead synth and find inspiration for a new riff.
The Offset parameter will push the LFO’s phase while the Length control changes the pulse length. Lastly and most importantly, the Effect Depth knob controls the intensity of the pulse effect.
S Pulser is a simple modulation tool that can transform a static sound into a pulse in just a few clicks. It’s handy for cinematic music, electronica, and ambient music. SoliderSound suggests using S Pulser on the reverb send to modulate the reverb and make it sound more interesting.
It can also work as a substitute for a side-chain ducking reverb, but the ability to change the waveform’s slope would be useful in this scenario. In its current state, the fake side-chain made with S Pulser sounds too harsh.
S Pulser is available in VST2, VST3, and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS. Both 32-bit and 64-bit plugin hosts are supported.

onThis is cool, I love MS tools.
Thanks :)

onI still haven’t received the confirmation link, so I couldn’t try it but it looks nice. Melda MTremolo also does MS, though, and is a way more featured and flexible plugin. The downside is that two separate instances are needed for mid and side signals.
