TBProAudio Releases FREE dpMeter 3 Metering Tool VST/AU Plugin

TBProAudio has introduced dpMeter 3, a freeware metering tool in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and RTAS plugin formats for Windows and Mac.

The third iteration of dpMeter adds preset management and a resizable user interface to the plugin’s feature set. Apart from these two improvements, the rest of the functionality remains the same as in dpMeter 2. The user interface also got a facelift, now featuring a slightly different color scheme and control layout.

Although preset management and a resizable GUI aren’t exactly groundbreaking improvements, they’re both quite useful in day to day use. Being able to change the scale of dpMeter’s window makes it possible to keep it minimized in the corner of your screen while mixing or show it in full screen on a second monitor, for example. The preset manager, on the other hand, will be quite useful for producers who want quick access to custom metering setups for the master channel, individual tracks, busses, etc.

For those unfamiliar with dpMeter, here’s a quick look at the plugin’s core feature set. It is a flexible multi-channel audio metering utility with support for RMS, EBUR128, and TruePeak (ISP) measurement. It also features adjustable pre-gain and manual loudness/peak matching. Despite being rather feature-packed for a metering utility, it is easy to use due to its streamlined interface and clever interface design.
