In addition, Samples From Mars have included a bunch of presets for many different samplers and platforms. All of the most popular software samplers and digital audio workstations are covered, including Ableton Live, Propellerhead Reason, NI Maschine, NI Battery, NI Kontakt, Logic Pro X, SFZ, and others. MPC users will also find a selection of kits for their hardware samplers.
The included drums were sampled from the creator’s favorite 808 unit which they describe as “the best sounding one they’ve heard”. The 808 in question was multi-sampled through an API console, both clean and with some additional hardware processing applied. The clean and processed samples are located in separate folders for easy browsing. If you ask me, 808 From Mars is one of the finest 808 sample packs around. It delivers a large amount of super clean 808 sounds and a great selection of heavily saturated variations of the original. The team at Samples From Mars used all sorts of juicy analog gear for processing, including hardware compressors, cassette decks, limiters, and more.
If all this sounds good, that’s because it is. So hurry up and grab your free copy of 808 From Mars while the offer is still on. Happy 808 Day!
808 From Mars is available for free download via Samples From Mars (233 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1,500 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format, presets for Ableton Live, NI Kontakt, SFZ, MPC).

onGot the entire SFM catalogue, – their libraries are superb, Ted really knows his stuff. Generally, if I’m looking for 808 sounds to go with an existing idea, I’ll go with dry samples like the Discovery Sound library or my TR-08, – but for colourful inspiration, the SFM 808 sounds never fail. Goldbabys Analogue-808 and just the Orig.wav files from the his Tape808 also get used quite a lot.
