Arturia just released Chorus JUN-6, a chorus plugin inspired by the Roland Juno-6 vintage analog synthesizer. The plugin is free to download from Arturia’s website until December 29th, 2020.
Chorus JUN-6 is a chorus effect inspired by the legendary analog chorus module from Roland’s Juno line of synthesizers. The plugin emulates the classic JUNO chorus sound while adding a few features that aren’t available in the original.
See also: Top 100 Christmas 2020 Plugin Deals & Freebies!Taking a closer look at the interface, the JUN-6 plugin offers two modes, just like the iconic Juno-6 chorus. Also, just like in the real Roland Juno-6, these two modes can operate simultaneously for a more dramatic chorusing effect.
However, this is where the JUN-6 plugin from Arturia gets more advanced. It adds a “manual” mode that lets the user fine-tune the modulation parameters. With the “manual” mode enabled, you can freely adjust the modulation rate, depth, and phase.
Last but not least, the user can bypass the plugin, select the input type (mono or stereo), and adjust the dry/wet mix. The mix control feature is a handy way to experiment with more dramatic chorusing effects while still preserving some of the original audio.
It’s not hard to guess that the Chorus JUN-6 plugin is taken from Arturia’s recently released JUN-6 virtual synthesizer. And just like the full synth, Arturia claims that the Chorus JUN-6 plugin is “a circuit-perfect emulation of the timeless Juno synthesizer chorus.”
One thing is for sure – the Chorus JUN-6 plugin sounds fantastic. Check the official demo video below to hear the plugin in action.
Obviously, a chorus based on the Roland Juno-6 will sound great on any synthesizer. But, you can also experiment with using Chorus JUN-6 to enhance guitars, vocals, or even drums. Generally speaking, it delivers a lush analog-style chorusing effect that warms up the signal while adding depth.
Here’s how Arturia describes the Chorus JUN-6 plugin:
“The Juno chorus is unique in its popularity – rather than being a pedal, a rack-mounted unit, or a secret studio weapon, it was built into the classic ‘80s synths of the same name. Ultimately, Chorus JUN-6 brings this beautiful analog vintage effect into your modern production workflow, faithfully reproduced with component-level accuracy, and tweaked with some flexible enhancements.”
Chorus JUN-6 is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac. Only 64-bit plugin hosts are supported.
To download your free copy of Chorus JUN-6, visit the product page linked below, add it to your shopping cart, and complete the checkout process. A valid Arturia user account is required for activation purposes (registration is free). You will also need to download and install the Arturia Software Center (ASC) application.
Be sure to claim your free copy of Chorus JUN-6 before December 29th, 2020. After that, the plugin will no longer be free (but it’s yours to keep forever if you get it for free before then).

onThey have had several freebies during the last decade, but you had to be there, they were only free for a limited time:
June 2012: Mini V Original
Dec 2016: MiniFilter V
Dec 2019: Rev PLATE-140
Dec 2020: Chorus JUN-6

Kirill R.
onTAL Vocoder =) You really can’t go wrong with Togu Audio Line freebies
MRG
onWell you can, by ignoring them. o_O;
So, TAL indeed but don’t forget Full Bucket’s VC-10 emu/simu-lation. Both vocoders are different enough to have their own use case.
Jeff Rosner
onI have found the TAL Vocoder to be difficult to get good results with as it only has (as I recall) 10 spectral channels, which provides limited ability to tune different voices.
Steve
onYeah, I think they gave away a synth a long time ago.
I got the free copy, but I was new to production and wanted more digital sounding synths and ended up disregarding it.

onIs it taking a while for your license to appear in your account guys?
Giam Renner
onLicense doesn’t show in account. Activation doesn’t work either.
Pity.
Tactile_coast
onignore the naysayers! Unlike many other xmas freebies (Ikmultimedia we are looking at you) this isn’t a scam to gouge cash from you later on its a genuine freebie and gets added to your account as if you had paid full price. So as well as the benefit of a very high quality bang up to date analog chorus you can trade it (last years reverb is averaging $20) or keep it and get substantial crossgrade discounts to other Arturia products (i.e. pigments for $69 instead of $199 etc etc)
Jamie M.
onI have nearly 10 IK products, all for free, and I don’t intend on buying any more :’)
i would rather not say
onI think I broke Arturia because I made an account but for some reason I couldnt sign in. I tried changing my password but the website says that the user has been blocked. Can anyone help me?
i would rather not say
onnevermind i forgot to activate my account
Michal Ochedowski
onIt took over 6 hours for the license to appear in my account. Not complaining, only passing information to others who still didn’t get theirs. To be even more fair, there was information on Arturia’s website that it might take a while.
samxday
onI have the TAL chorus that I use on nearly every song :-D No fiddling/manual….so I think I’ll skip this one.
Also – if you want an actual pedal that does this….TC Electronic JUNE-60…cheap….and has WOODEN PANELS!!!!
