Only until June 4th, the pricing for UVI Emulation II has been reduced by 67% bringing it all the way down to €49 ($63). This instrument is compatible with all major DAWs through UVI Workstation VST/AU/AAX plugin (available as a free download on UVI’s website). The included samples were recorded straight from the original E-mu Emulator II hardware unit.
Listening to the audio and video examples shared on the official website, Emulator II sounds like the perfect tool for bringing some of that 80s nostalgia to your music. The attractive thing to me is that it includes everything from drums and bass sounds to various percussion sounds, classic synth patches, and even sound effects. You get everything needed to create a full throw-back style track. Emulation II uses a combination of 5GB worth of high-quality samples and the emulated filter/envelope tools that were onboard the hardware version to recreate the classic Emulator II feel. The included presets harken back to the sounds used in hit songs of the 1980s and they are fully customizable using the UVI Workstation interface.
And that’s not all! Also included in the bundle is UVI’s Drumulation which, fittingly, emulates the E-mu Drumulator drum machine. The main display features two 16-step sequencers which can be expanded out to a total of 8 sequences that can be operated together. Each sequencer has the basic mute/volume/pan controls but also some helpful filtering and tune effects for matching the samples to the correct key of the song. There are 500 drum samples and 21 preset kits included in this bonus addition to the Emulation II pack.
