I especially like the export to a source files folder. I like to keep stuff clean, but hadn’t thought of that. I’m a bit ADHD, so process is especially important to me. Thanks a lot.

So, ‘source files to place’ is the name of a folder. It’s a location to store all your start tracks. Your start tracks/files within this folder should be named normally, e.g. Bass, kick, Snare, E Gtr…:-)

Hi Tony, many thanks for the kind words and thanks for the question, no problem, always ask anything, anytime, I am here to help. The answer is this:

I like to know instantly, and without doubt, where the correct original start files are for a mix. This is important to avoid any confusion should I revisit the project at a later date, for example, if I want to remix a song, start a mix from scratch again or try a different template (I use mixing templates). I don’t want to spend time searching the original source files out and then thinking “oh, is that the right file, or is it this one!” So, whether mixing my own work or a clients, prior to starting a mix, I create the project, then add a new empty sub-folder within the main project folder and call it ‘source files to place’ (call it anything that means something to yourself – these are the files you will import into your session to start your mix). I then move all the original files to this ‘source files to place’ folder; then I import them into the session to mix from the ‘source files to place’ folder. This way I always know instantly, at anytime now or in the future, where all the original start files are for the mix. I hope this helps. Ask again if it is still not clear or anything else. Enjoy the mix!

Only question: can you explain better how you label “Source Files to Place”? I’m not sure if I got this tip correctly! Sorry…
