Is studio one 3 (artist) a good easy to use and learn daw for a complete beginner?

I can’t really see much in that review that really knocks S3 down all that much tbh. I’ve never really judged a DAW on its native plugins. I could honestly care less about them. There are plenty of companies that make amazing third party plugs that beat the crap out of any native signal processing plugin out there.

Now maybe its because I don’t deal with loops often or at all since when I’m usually recording my tracks from a sound source and never use loops to write with, however, I never really saw S1 as a competitor to FL Studio or Ableton as they seem to have a niche when it comes to their functionality. Programs like FL Studio, Ableton, and Reason are very commonly brought in via ReWire into PT, Logic, Cubase, and S1 rigs for a reason.

Though I’ll say my biggest issue with your “realistic” view is the abundance or ranting and lack of objectivity and a scope beyond your own personal needs.

“Perhaps the coolest thing about Extended FX Chains is that the processed audio signal can be split into multiple frequency bands”. I like this idea very much, it’s inspiring and ignites creativity. All the other improvements sound pretty useful as well.

IMO Studio One v.3 is pretty lame. There’s nothing really useful, they’ve ruined the GUI and stability has been compromised.
This is a realistic review of Studio One v.3

I get a little peeved when people try to make old things sound new “innovative” and “awesome”. The Arranger Track, seams to look and behave like Regions for both Ableton and Reaper, so it’s new to Studio One but it’s not new.
The Scratch Pad though looks neat, however the price tag for that feature is a bit steep, you need the Professional edition for that.
