Get a soundcard with a low latency and all your frustrations will melt away like butter in the sun. I’ve been using the RME Hammerfall cards, but I’m sure there are better nowadays for a better price.

You do have to do a bit of digging through all the presets they have though. There’s also a set of free impulse verbs for Origami, which is the built in conv. verb in Independence.
