I love Charlatan as well, and it has the edge on Basic due to it being polyphonic. However, Basic is a fantastic synth with a sound and feel all its own and an extremely low CPU hit. Charlatan can definitely get up there in the mid-to-higher CPU. Basic’s GUI wins for sure and it’s so easy to make it scream. I have to say overall I prefer Basic (though I do wish it had at least 4 note poly) ! :)
