Bluezone Corporation has released a free sample pack containing 1 GB of free sci-fi sound effects in 24-bit WAV format.
The sample pack is a 0.98 GB download (1.01 GB when extracted) and contains 120 sound effects in total. The included sounds were handpicked from various commercial Bluezone Corporation releases. Most sounds share a similar sci-fi theme, with plenty of swooshes, flyby sound effects, impacts, radio interference noises, and background atmospheres which sound as if they were recorded on an alien planet. Obviously, these are perfect for use in sci-fi video projects and similar audio-visual work, but I can also see them being blended with other sounds in electronic music production.

Simply scroll all the way down their homepage (linked below) and click the download link. All included sounds are provided as high-quality 24-bit stereo WAV files.
What is somewhat disappointing, though, is the fact that there is no license information in the download pack, nor one the Bluezone Corporation website. For that reason, it is not clear if these files can be treated as being royalty-free and used as such in commercial projects. I reached out to Bluezone Corporation to ask them about this and I’ll update this article as soon as I receive their response.
UPDATE: My bad. The download actually DOES contain a license text file and the included samples ARE indeed royalty-free. Here’s an excerpt from the license: “These samples are royalty free and can be used in television and radio broadcasts, film or video productions, video games, web promos, music tracks, commercial audio and/or visual productions.”
The samples are available for free download via Bluezone Corporation (0.98 GB download size, ZIP archive, contains 120 sound effects in 24-bit WAV format).

onHi Tomislav.
First of all, your website is excellent, and thank you for the time and effort you put in to help people like me produce music etc without much resources, much appreciated.
Re: the above sample pack – when I click through the link to Bluezone’s Website, it does not seem immediately apparent where this free sample pack is? You don’t mention in your article the exact title so it is hard to search for, and I’m not sure I have the patience to browse every single pack to see if it has a price listed. I’m probably being stupid, sorry.
EDIT: I’m sorry. I reread your article to make sure I didn’t miss something, which of course I did (“..scroll all the way down..”). I wish I could delete my comment! I’m tired, my apologies.

onI re-read your article to make sure I didn’t miss something the first time. And, of course, I did. Sorry!
