Hey David, thanks for the kind comments! If you have the synthesis engine switched to “Normal” mode, envelopes have an “s-shaped” attack phase. This means that the first half of the attack phase slopes upward with an exponential curve and the second half has more of a round logarithmic curve as it approaches the decay phase, which results in a “pillowy” attack. I’m not sure if the attack curve is perfectly exponential/logarithmic, but if you can visualize it, you will see it has sort of an “s-shape”. I hope that helps. Enjoy Hive!
