AfroDJMac Releases Free MELT Factor Effect Rack For Ableton Live

AfroDJMac has announced the release of MELT Factor, a freely downloadable pitch-drifting effect rack for Ableton Live.

MELT Factor emulates the pitch instability of old analog synthesizers, VHS tapes, and vinyl records. It’s the type of tool you’d want to use to transform the sound of your modern digital synthesizer into something more organic and vintage-like. The freebie rack features the exact same set of FX tools found in AfroDJMac’s newly released MELT ($20) instrument rack, only without the bundled sample content. Check out the MELT instrument rack if you’re into vintage synth samples, as it comes with 61 multi-sampled patches from the Prophet 6 analog synthesizer.

In terms of features, the free MELT Factor rack offers two pitch drift LFOs with amount and speed parameters, a bitcrusher, and the noise generator with three different types of noise. Depending on your settings, the rack can be used as an extremely subtle pitch instability effect, or as a far more aggressive wobbling effect with added bitcrushing distortion.

The rack can be downloaded free of charge from the product page linked below. To download the rack for free, enter $0 as the amount in the download form. You can enter any other amount if you’d like to support AfroDJMac’s future work. Please note that the full version of Ableton Live is required to use the MELT Factor rack.
