ELPHNT has announced the release of DRUMR, a freely downloadable (pay what you want) percussion sound design tool for Ableton Live Lite, Intro, Standard, or Suite.
DRUMR is a percussion sound design tool with a simple user interface optimized for a fast workflow. The GUI features eight knobs for selecting the source sample and adjusting its start point, decay, pitch, decay time, HP filter cutoff and resonance (marked as HP Boost on the interface), drive amount, and output volume.
Apart from the quick introduction/demo video embedded at the top of this page, ELPHNT is also offering a detailed guide in PDF format and an in-depth video tutorial for learning the ins and outs of DRUMR. Despite being very workflow-oriented and easy to use, the instrument will become an even more useful tool in your arsenal once you fully understand the sound design concept behind it. Some additional hints are featured in this blog post on the developer’s website.
Being a part of ELPHNT’s EARTH x DRM CIRCTS product family, DRUMR works great in combination with other DRM CIRCTS racks. The instrument is also fully compatible with Ableton Push 1 and 2 controllers. These are not required, though, as DRUMR can be used without external hardware, or with any controller featuring eight or more assignable controls.
To download your copy of DRUMR, enter any amount in the price field on the product page linked below. Entering $0 will result in a free checkout (valid email address), although the developer is recommending $5 as a fair price. The pricing is entirely optional, though. You can also apply a 33% OFF discount to your purchase of EARTH ($30) drum machine for Ableton Live by entering the coupon code “makedrumsnotwar” in the offer field.
DRUMR is available for free download via ELPHNT (13.3 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 instrument rack in ADG format for Ableton Live, 15 audio samples in 16-bit WAV format).
