OSCaudio releases plateVerb, a freeware plate reverb effect in VST2, VST3, and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS.
plateVerb is a stereo plate reverb plugin with simple controls. It is OSCaudio virtual effect debut, following a couple of interesting virtual instruments that you can download from their website.
If you’re looking for a simple plate reverb effect to get the job done, plateVerb should be on your radar. It’s not a groundbreaking reverb, but it is lightweight, simple, and straightforward. Sometimes, that is exactly what a producer needs instead of adding more chaos to an already busy mixing session.
So, what you get with plateVerb is a plate reverb with adjustable decay, high-pass, and low-pass filter parameters. You can also control the dry and wet signal levels separately. The Mono switch lets you set everything to mono, and the Bypass switch is there to quickly turn the effect on and off.
You can preview how the plugin sounds in the demo video below.
Presets aren’t necessary for such a straightforward plugin, but OSCaudio included a preset manager to help you store your favorite settings for later if needed.
At the moment, plateVerb is available as a freeware plugin for Windows and macOS. An iOS edition of the plugin is expected shortly.
If you’re looking for a reverb plugin with a little more pizazz, check out the incredible Super Massive by ValhallaDSP.
Before you go, I would like to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all BPB readers who celebrate. I had to take a few days off, so the website was silent for a couple of days (my apologies, but it was necessary). We have a few more surprises coming in 2022, so stay tuned, and thank you all for being a part of BPB! 🎄
