I have no idea what you’re talking about. It does what it promises pretty good and their GUI is just stellar. It never hanged as well with reaper so you might being using older version that already fixed since then. I created some really nice patches with monica and this little thing rocks with an unbelievable hot signal – yet zero clipping and monstrous effect section. I have no idea what full bucket do, because I’ve never tried them, but I’m definitely going to keep this monica thing in my arsenal.

Idea sounds somewhat like Full Bucket WhispAir which focused on 90s Hybrid synthesis, although that synth could be used for any both mono or pad sounds, featured three oscillators any of which could use either original, user imported or retro 90s synth Korg DW8000 waveforms and has never caused my DAW to hang (that applies to all of FBM synths, opposite applies to half of Fanan synths). I have a feeling that there’s nothing this synth can offer that Whispair can or does better and without hanging so I’ll be sticking with Whispair when I need a 90s-sounding pad.

about corrupted zip files I usually fix the mess by using 7zip instead of other tools like universal extractor. And then it works for monica synth (you’re right universal extractor fails to open it).
