Native Instruments announced the Holiday Gift 2021, a free gift for all music producers. The freebie includes iZotope’s Trash 2 ($99), Play Series: TWENTY FIVE, and a 25% OFF e-voucher from Native Instruments.
Holiday Gift 2021 offers are valid from December 16th until January 4th. Let’s take a closer look at what’s included in this year’s Native Instruments freebie.
iZotope Trash 2 is a legendary distortion effect that would typically cost you $99, but Native Instruments offer it as a FREE download this holiday season. iZotope and Native Instruments joined forces in March this year, so seeing an iZotope plugin included in NI’s freebie gift shouldn’t be a surprise.
If you’re looking for a powerful distortion plugin to twist and mangle your audio, look no further than iZotope Trash 2. It has been one of my go-to distortion tools for years, and it indeed is one of the most versatile audio mangling tools on the market.
You can apply various distortion flavors and mix that with a pair of filters, a convolution module, compression, noise gate, and a delay. The plugin comes with many presets, so you quickly pick a starting point and adjust the parameters to your liking.
Hear iZotope Trash 2 in action in the demo video below.
TWENTY FIVE is a Kontakt library that celebrates 25 years of Native Instruments history. You’ll find a variety of patches sampled from NI’s popular virtual synths like Massive and FM8, as well as their most popular sample libraries.
The library is fully compatible with Kontakt Player, so you can use it without limitations even if you don’t own the full version of NI Kontakt.
The 25% OFF e-voucher is valid for any Native Instruments software product purchase at the NI online shop. Use the coupon code HOLIDAYGIFT2021 at checkout to get a 25% discount on your order.
Here’s more info about the Holiday Gift 2021 offer:
“Today, Native Instruments begins celebrating the holiday season together with iZotope, giving away free software products from both brands, alongside a 25% e-voucher for the NI online shop.
As part of the Holiday Gift giveaway, iZotope’s Trash 2 is free to download for a limited time. The popular distortion plug-in offers flexibility in shaping tone, transforming sounds, or warping them beyond all recognition.
Until January 4, 2022, Native Instruments is extending the availability of Play Series: TWENTY FIVE, a free, limited-edition software instrument paying tribute to the last 25 years of NI and 37 vintage instruments released during this time.”

onI thought all izotope products used iLok, but here it is optional one can use the serial number to authorize, or iLok. That is super!
Gery Zenz
onyou can authorize all iZotope plugins without iLok!
Numanoid
onThanks, I didn’t realize, maybe I will try to install Iris 2 again

onYeah thx,I got this from plugin boutique for free though.I think it’s pretty powerful must have pluigin
Harry
onSo this year no completely new freebie from NI, just an 8 years old Izotope plugin?
It seems the NI – Izotope partnership is not very beneficial for the users
Rex Roll
onAgreed,Speical gift for 25 anniversary, that’s nice, but nothing else on Black Friday and Christmas(still not sure),and after everything 50% off cyber month, just a 25% off coupon? It’s OK NI do whatever they want,But it’s not that cool about what they offered in this Holiday event.

onJust because it’s old makes it a bad gift? If I recall, serum came out around the same time, and I bet that would make a *wonderful* gift in your books. Why must one complain when it’s already free??
Also, the NI izotope partnership already gave us hybrid keys for free, another great play instrument, liiiiiiike 25. So I’m not complaining :)
Harry
onWho needs Serum when there is Vital for free? I guess I feel dissappointed because I was looking forward for a surprise (we have been spoiled by NI holiday gifts for years) not an old plugin. Not a huge fan of Trash 2 (it was free before on Plugin Boutique), but I guess its a good plugin for some.
Numanoid
onI have been following the plugin market for over 10 years, but I realize there are newbies coming in all the time, and this is for them, a chance to catch a golden oldie for free
James
onNot sure about folks complaining about this being old. I’ve seen Trash listed on a ton of mixing articles like in SOS.
Tomislav Zlatic
onTrash 2 rocks.
PureFire
onA lovely gift, thank you so much for everything Tomislav 🙏😊
Tomislav Zlatic
onThanks, PureFire! :)

onI can’t believe it. Some people can’t be satisfied with a 99 USD plugin, which probably required hundreds of hours in development, given to them for free. There is no room for complaints. It’s a gift.
Numanoid
onYes, for me personally this is not that interesting, but there is a lot of other users out there. As X-mas gifts goes this is not the worst
ASJ
onI speculate Trash 3 is at the doors. After the release of plugins like Thermal (Output) and Rift (Minimal Audio), Trash 2 feels kinda old with its outdated, cluttered interface and its clunky modulation system, at least when compared to its fresh competitors. We’ll see, it could really benefit from an update focusing on quality-of-life improvements. Nice gift though
Numanoid
onI doubt it: Iris 2 has been given away almost for free for many years now but yet no Iris 3 has appeared…
Michal Ochedowski
onI’ll jump in with a small correction. Iris 2 has been offered free in November 2020. Promo lasted for 4 weeks. One user on another forum called it abandonware, which for me is a rather accurate description. Just like you, I’m not expecting to see update for this synth.
ASJ
onSounds much like Native Instruments, with stuff such as Absynth and FM8 completely abandoned. It feels so stupid that in 2022 big music software corporations don’t update their vsts to make the GUI freely resizable. Such a pity
Numanoid
onI agree, an updated Absynth and FM9 is much wanted.
PureFire
onSystem Requirements for Trash 2 – it says at least MacOS Catalina is needed, but i installed Trash 2 onto MacOS High Sierra in the usual way & all is ok 👍

onDoesn’t work for me with that link. NI and iZotope have pages on that offer and that was the only way for me to get them.
