VSTzOne has released Arx One, a freeware audio utility for correcting phase issues in a mix.
Arx One is a multi-band tool for correcting phasing issues. It offers four adjustable frequency bands, with L/R and Stereo controls for each band. The bands can be previewed in solo for easier finetuning.

Each frequency band is represented by a different color so it’s easy to figure out what’s going on. The preset manager is located at the top of the UI, along with the signal rotate control which handles the global stereo image.
The bottom portion of the interface sports the left and right channel pan controls, along with the real-time phase correlation display. This is where you can monitor the audio output while correcting the signal’s phase.
So, Arx One can fix the phase of a stereo signal and it can also convert a mono signal into stereo. One thing it can’t do, though, is correcting the signal’s phase without affecting its stereo width. It is a splendid tool for making your stereo mix compatible with mono sound systems, but you wouldn’t want to use Arx One on something like a binaural recording.
Arx One is a tool to help you with correcting phase issues. It splits the signal into four frequency bands that can be adjusted individually. You can adjust panning for each split and choose the source channel to use for the audio output. Thanks to this individual band panning, Arx One can also create stereo from a mono source.
We’ve recently seen another freeware phase-related plugin that can work great in tandem with Arx One. Be sure to check out the GŌN goniometer plugin that was released by MAAT Audio earlier this week.
Arx One is available for direct free download from KVR Audio. You can download the plugin without signing up and it doesn’t require activation, either. The download link is located in the “Operating System Availability” section of the product page. You will receive a ZIP archive that contains the manual installation files.
The software is available in VST and VST3 plugin formats for digital audio workstations on Windows. Both 32-bit and 64-bit host applications are supported.
