Helpful and specific. Customers who are looking for R1850DB will have this review very helpful. Recently I also bought an Edifier R1850DB from an online shop name techsoi technologies. I am really in love with the product and It is very good. The color is black and it is very stylish. The sound quality and bass is very good. Overall it is a very good speaker. I tried that and it did not work that way. Each plus button increased both speakers equally and the same for the minus buttons. Having the ability to control each speaker independently would be a great feature.

Two volumes for two speakers (right and left speaker). Wow.

Maybe because they didn’t engineer the remote but took an existing design and just printed their own label?

Do you recommend these or Presonus Eris 3.5 for the same price (around 100 EUR)? Of course, Eris is more professional, but R1850DB also has a pretty smooth AFR curve, and also it has more features, and, it seems, it has biamp (separate amp channels for tweeters / bass) while Eris 3.5 does not (Eris 5 does).

Also Eris 3.5 can get shrill and fatiguing if you want not only to produce music, but also listen to it casually. Maybe that can be fixed by treble knob or EQ, not sure. Anyway, tough choice.

What about to connect a piano digital? Will get a good sound ? Or you recommend another one? Thank you from Spain.

HAROLD, I’m not sure but I think you’re missing the word ‘Professional’ in “professional mixing”, that’s why you’re not getting it. It’s a sentence that got me confused too for a handful of seconds. Monitoring is a very debatable domain. Dave Darlington says he uses “tons of monitors and they’re not really expensive”, he adds that the problem is when a beginner buys a very expensive pair and thinks that that one pair alone is enough just because it’s excellent. I think it’s kinda irrefutable that many different average/good/very good speakers/headphones from various brands instead of one excellent solution is the best, most reliable way to finish our tracks. I do the same with my headphones. I just don’t care, I seriously doubt I’ll ever buy very expensive stuff even if I ever become rich. And I’m a true perfectionist. 99% of the people who listen to music don’t have very expensive equipment and at some point you’re probably going to be just fine if you resort to multiple monitors from different brands cause I’m guessing it would be strange and mysterious if a particular set of KRKs, JBLs, Mackies, Yamahas, AKGs, Beyerdynamics, etc working together would fail on us and we would find out about this while listening through other models/brands.

But for composing music, beat making, recording and editing audio, or handling any similar audio-related task, we can only recommend the R1850DBs as a great budget solution.”?

When I buy speaker for my home studio, of course I also want to use them for mixing. What is missing for it to be a “proper monitoring solution”?

Could you please clarify, so that I know what you mean?
