    Sorry i couldn’t resist, but Vegas has been notorious for crashes.

    If they got things running more stably in recent versions I’d like to know..

      Absolutely, but they fixed most of those issues in VEGAS Pro 14. I used it to edit all of my NAMM 2017 and Musikmesse 2017 videos, leaving it to render in the media center while I go back to record more stuff, and there weren’t any issues (knock on the wood). It really feels very solid and stable now.

  2. Also you should have a look at DaVinci Resolve, which now can be used for free in the quite extensive basic version and the Studio version was reduced to 299$
    Very fluid, great colour tools, interesting audio suite including surround and extremely fast export.

    Fusion is also worth a look for more involved compositing tasks. Also free in the base version.
