99Sounds has introduced Project Exodus, a free cinematic sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt and all WAV compatible sampler instruments.
Project Exodus is the successor to Project Pegasus, Bryan Lake’s first release on 99Sounds that was published in November last year. The new sample collection follows a similar theme, but with even bigger sounds, more sample content and an improved custom user interface for NI Kontakt. The library contains 127 instrument patches in total, sorted into three categories (soundscapes, instruments, sequences) for easier browsing. All patches are provided in both WAV and NKI formats, meaning that the users who don’t own Kontakt can still use the sounds in their sampler of choice. The patches will work for fifteen minutes only in the free Kontakt Player.
The library focuses on the types of synthesized sounds and background noises that you’d expect to hear in a sci-fi movie, ranging from huge atmospheric textures and lush analog pads to earth shattering sound effects and action movie style drum loops. The custom user interface provides hands-on control over the amplitude envelope and the built-in effects, so that the patches can be further tweaked without accessing the instrument editor in Kontakt.
Project Exodus is available for direct free download from 99Sounds, no registration or sign up required. The sounds are free to download and available for use in both commercial and non-commercial projects. You can support the author’s future sound design work by submitting a donation on the product page linked below.
