ZAK Sound releases Sounds of Cordoba, a royalty-free nature sample pack and VST plugin that you can download for free until February 1st.
The sounds of nature make an odd pairing with modern music production, but there is something to be said about adding that touch of flavor to a production. If you’ve been after the sound of natural ambiance, look no further, as ZAK Sound has you covered.
Sounds of Cordoba is a set of twenty-nine natural sounds captured from Cordoba, an area in Argentina. Users can expect the sounds of waterfalls, wild birds, the wind, streams, and more.
The sounds themselves certainly have a wonderful ambiance and could easily be leveraged into some clever sound design work in a pinch. Looping is a cinch, as ZAK Sound made an effort to make sure they could easily be used for this purpose. Loop points have, thankfully, already been set.
Sounds of Cordoba certainly does a flavor of its own. Users will likely find multiple samples that work as a source of inspiration, ambiance, or even a means of creating new sounds.
The sounds of thundering storms are a particular favorite, adding the subtle chaos and uncertainty of gray skies and the torrential downpour of rain. Gusts of wind can be heard as well as the quiet rumble of the thunder in the distance.
Birds singing is also a wonderful addition and immediately evokes an almost idyllic tone when inserted into a production.
And if you prefer virtual instruments over sample packs, you’ll be happy to hear that Sounds of Cordoba is also available as a free VST plugin. You can load it in your DAW and play the sounds using your MIDI controller.
So, what is Sounds of Cordoba suited for? Really anything you can put your mind to. It is a highly flexible collection, not restricted by plugin formats or operating system requirements.
If you’re interested in picking up Sounds of Cordoba for yourself, it is free for a limited time through ZAK Sound. Users have until February 1st to snag the collection for themselves before the price jumps to $9.
Compatibility is universal across all operating systems and only requires the ability to use and manipulate WAV files or load VST3/AU plugins.

onI like how clean the sounds are. Some of the previous nature samples i’ve had were rather noisy or too busy.
