Inspired Acoustics Releases FREE Inspirata Lite Convolution Reverb

42

Inspired Acoustics released Inspirata Lite, a $199 convolution reverb plugin that is free to download until January 31st, 2021.

Inspirata Lite is a free (for a limited time only) plugin based on Inspired Acoustics’ flagship Inspirata Professional reverb platform. Inspired Acoustics describes Inspirata as an “immersive reverb workstation” that lets the user position the processed audio track in a virtual acoustic space.

At its core, Inspirata is a convolution reverb. Like any other convolution reverb plugin, Inspirata uses pre-recorded impulse responses to simulate an acoustic space’s reverb characteristics.

Inspired Acoustics sampled various real-world acoustic spaces, ranging from large concert halls and cathedrals to small domestic spaces and postproduction studio rooms.

What sets Inspirata apart from most other convolution reverb plugins on the market is the level of control and customization offered by the plugin’s user interface. The user can customize the position of both the sound source and the listener in the simulated space.

The Lite and Personal editions of Inspirata can host up to two sound sources, whereas Inspirata Professional bumps that number up to sixteen. The paid editions of Inspirata also include more powerful controls (such as the Clarity control for adjusting early reflections without changing the decay time), multi-channel support, and a larger convolution reverb library.

Limitations aside, Inspirata Lite packs plenty of power for a free convolution reverb. You’re getting a stereo reverb plugin with a 9 GB library, an intuitive control layout, and a quick browser for choosing the virtual reverb space.

All of this looks excellent on paper. There’s one potential issue with Inspirata Lite, though, and that is the download speed.

I learned about the Inspirata Lite freebie offer three days ago, but I was holding off posting an article about it because I wanted to include a mini-review. Whenever possible, I like to test a plugin first before writing a Bedroom Producers Blog article about it.

However, the download speed for Inspirata Lite and its 9GB convolution reverb library is so slow that I wasn’t able to download the plugin as of yet. The one time the download seemed to have finished successfully, the actual downloaded file was corrupted (due to a download error).

Hopefully, you’ll have more success with downloading Inspirata Lite on your computer. If that is the case, please let me know how you liked the plugin in the comments section below.

I will update this article with a mini-review as soon as I’ve had the chance to test Inspirata Lite in my DAW.

Inspirata Lite is available in VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstation software on PC and Mac. Only 64-bit plugin hosts are supported. Inspirata Lite normally costs $199, and it’s available for free download until January 31st, 2021.

Download times seems ok here (UTC+1 Germany), the plugin came across in half an hour, the IRs will take about three hours.
Intriguing plugin. If it does what it´s promising, I see vienna MIR partially dethroned!

    Aloha!
I had no issues neither with the download nor the activation. It is two product INSPIRATA Giveaway Lite Edition and INSPIRATA Roompack Lite. Since Inspirata lite has some factory content it works without the Roompack lite. I think don’t need to wait until the end of Roompack download to give it a try. I think before you try you don’t need to start downloading the Roompack lite. And it needs ilok activation no dongle required.

  2. Seems to need iLok, also the link is for their software center, which downloads the exe for the reverb to the folder you specify. Then it must be navigated to and executed to install it, kinda weird. Anyway I didn’t try it either because I hate iLok. And I wasn’t about to start the download for the extra 9GB of IRs, thats just too much, lol (it is separate in the software center, so appears to not be required).

  3. Only 48000 rate is supported !!!
Thats too bad from them : ( I have the main plug after 24 hrs downloaded but roompack said 2GB is 100% of 8.14GB so im restarting. Theres huge discussion about this at: you know where : D… /groups/916355121807800

  4. Right then…

It comes in two downloads – one for the plugin and the other (room pack) for the 8 GB of various spaces/impulses.
You do need i-lok – but not a dongle.
You only get one room included if you don’t download the room pack – so you can try it out without having to download the 8 GB file.
The download is slow, but the progress readout is misleading. So don’t worry if it seems to be stopping and starting – it is probably getting somewhere.

Sadly it seems the Lite version does not allow you to place multiple different sound sources in your chosen reverb stage/space. Not even the 2 thought. It looks like you have to pay if you want this.

However, it does seem to be a very nice convolution reverb that you can tweak quite a bit – even if it does take up a lot of disk space.

  5. Took me two hours to download, ilok process seems to be looking for a hardware device which I don’t have. I tried to submit a support ticket but just got a message saying the request failed. It looks like an interesting product but it’s awful clunky to install and I still don’t have it working

    • If you’ve got the iLok license manager downloaded, you just have to go up to file, then click on “start my cloud session.” just be aware that you’ve gotta have an active internet connection.

  6. Although you cannot activate to a local computer using the iLok license manager, you don’t need a physical iLok dongle. You can use the “iLok Cloud” feature. Basically the plugin will use your iLok username and password to log in to the “cloud” version of your iLok. This is the first time that I have ever done this, I did not know it was possible. I haven’t actually *tried* using the plug-in–after all the downloading and figuring out this new way of using iLok, I need a nap.

  7. Does it work with the iLok USB stick dongle ?
Can it be installed in different PC’s and run from the dongle, or is each download tied to that specific PC ?
Thank you in advance for answers.

  8. Thank you, Tomislav! You guys are the best. I was planning to buy Seventh Heaven, but if this reverb sounds well, you have saved me from spending money. Again.

    Aloha!
There are some famous venues from Hungary. 👍 I never found such IRs from my country before! Thank you! 😊

  10. Does anybody else have problems downloading Inspirata via Inspired acoustics connect? IR pack downloaded with no problems, but reverb itself stuck at 100 percent and doesn’t stop downloading for some reason. It’s been stuck like that for 2 hours or so.

  11. At risk of sounding ungrateful for this freebie…

Downloads of this size should be packed into rars or zips.
So that when they do “finish” downloading,
we can test the files integrity for any download-corrupted defects.

  12. Hello everybody! They had fixed the downloading process and today I got both folders pretty fast. The app itself works properly, I’m glad to have it.

I finally got around to downloading and installing this plugin. It took 12 minutes to get everything on the disk. Total size around 9 GB. I guess it highly depends on the time of day and perhaps selected server.
I’m not a fan of this interface, but there are certainly some beautiful sounding spaces available. As long as I have internet connection everything should be fine. It’s good that iLok Cloud Session stays open even after system reboot.
I kept comparing Inspirata Lite with Convology XT. They both have strong points and tend to sound excellent with certain IRs. Anybody else did that? Share some thoughts.

  14. I don’t know why but it works only in mono. I insert it into stereo channel and it starts sounding in mono. How can I fix it?

    • Ikr? I wish companies would abolish the whole idea of ilok already. It’s such a hassle having to deal with, especially for products claimed to be free.

  15. I noticed the Inspired Acoustics Connect can creates up to 300+ outbound internet connections. I wonder if this is some sort of torrent download?

  16. Hello awesome people! I’m rather late to the party. If anyone would be kind enough to provide an alternative link for the Inspirata Lite Roompack I would be most grateful. I have tried so many times to download the zip file from their site and cannot locate a mirror or alternative site. I recently acquired the plugin via the Pro Tools “goodies” section on the Avid site. I would really love to try it out but the download fails without exception at 1.08GB every time.

If there are any kind souls who would be willing to put this file onto Google Drive or similar that would be really awesome. Even better if it could be split up into 1GB chunks but now I am pushing my luck haha.

    Many thanks
    -Vaughan
