However, that’s just a rough 5 LED-meter to indicate when I get into saturation. I agree, it is a bit weird, but I couldn’t care less in this case as each channel in my DAW comes with a super precise metering built in anyway.

Here is the easiest way to notice the VU meter’s erratic behavior. Take a kick drum sample and play it in a loop. In my case VU meter spontaneously displays different values. Sometimes it’s -6, sometimes 0 and sometimes +3 on the meter. I tried it many times with different samples.

This is NOT an API EQ. It is based on a different console that has some similarities but still has its own character. It is a “Sound Workshop Series 34”. Hence the plugin’s name (SW34EQ).

A bug reported and confirmed by developer a long time ago. It’s never been fixed. I’m not trying to take away from anyone’s experience, especially with a free plugin. I only wish someone would’ve warned me about it.
