I just tried to set it up on drum bus and as a master bus gentle compressor in the same project. It took me less than five minutes for both to dial proper settings. What’s more surprising, they behaved much better compared to well established and not free compressor. DCAM FreeComp is definitely worth trying out. It’s a real pleasure to use, because it has so little settings.
Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Don’t be discouraged by sluggish gain reduction needle behavior. It really depends on the material, how quickly or how slow it goes back to starting point.
