Been using VP15 for about 6 months. Seriously unimpressed. The inter face icons are too small and fiddly , you click on a clip to shorten it and the time line separates the video from the audio. When you click to move the timeline it suddenly reduces in size and you have to expand it again and find your place. It has a lot of quirks and idiosyncrasies and is amateurish. Some of my projects are 2 hours long and made up of many 3 to 4 sec clips and it has now just crashed losing 2 hours of work because I neglected to click the save button. This program is fine if you only want to upload short video’s to YouTube or do simple video’s. It is not for serious work. I will pay the subscription and use Adobe Pro . In a nut shell…..I HATE IT

Bought Vegas Pro 14 Edit with a “Humble Bundle” and got hooked. Never bothered with the software in the past. Too ugly an interface. But after messing with VP14, I bought VP15 Suite upgrade.
Yes, LUT’s are new (I can now use LUTs in VP14 too), but there is no preview of what the LUT will do with your footage. You have to select LUT after LUT individually to see results. Resolve has a LUT preview which makes it easy. Red Giant Looks type interface would be great.
Performance is still lagging compared to consumer editors where you can play back the timeline in real time without having to change the Preview quality. Yes, you can edit with proxies (I do with 4K), but still, I can drop a 4K file on Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate, and play back on the timeline easily. Add something to it? It renders out on the timeline. This is one thing I do miss greatly.
But, Vegas is such a great timeline editor and there is so much to explore, I keep coming back for more.
