So, as long as you promise to not abuse/forward the collected email addresses, I am fine with that :-).

I know, it’s not ideal but it had to be done, at least for now. The thing is, with the fully unlocked (click to download) system, people would simply copy the entire 99Sounds page or even just the link and share it on other websites, forums, and so on. This resulted in massive download bandwidth costs for me (that is hundreds of GB daily) which simply didn’t make sense because I couldn’t afford to add new free sounds to the website. Download links would constantly expire (just look at the comments on 99Sounds releases) due to high bandwidth and I’ve wasted a tremendous amount of time reuploading, fixing the links, etc. It also meant that people would download the sounds from random places without ever even seeing who the author was (each page on 99Sounds links to the respective author’s other work and their sound design projects). So, something needed to change. With the current setup, I can afford the download costs because services like Sellfy and Gumroad offer unlimited space for a lower cost and there is at least some control over the download bandwidth and location.
